Set-up fee: (only applies to digitizing): $25 per job (not per image)
We photograph your artwork on an easel with studio lighting. Our state-of-the-art camera system uses polarizing filters to capture the most detailed aspects of your artwork while eliminating shadows and glare. Advanced color profiles are created for monitor, printer, and camera to ensure the closest color match. We do not use a scanner because most scanners use a uniform light source that can result in lost brush stroke detail. We invested big bucks in our high-end camera and lighting system in order to capture every detail of your artwork.
The set-up fee covers the cost of making test prints and color matching to your original artwork. We keep working on your file until you are satisfied that you are getting the closest match possible to the original. For digitized photographs, the set-up fee covers Photoshop work done such as re-touching and enhancing your image and may be adjusted according to time spent working on your files.
A high resolution 300 dpi, 16-bit tif as well as a jpg file are provided to you at no extra cost. We recommend that you download your files that we provide to you on your computer or external drive for safekeeping. Keep the tif file for making future prints and use the jpg file for viewing on your phone, attaching to email, or uploading to your website. We keep copies of all your digital files as well.
To calculate the square inches of your print, multiply height (H) times width (W).
H x W = sq. inches
For example, if you want a 16" x 20" print, the number of square inches is 16x20=320. Take 320 and multiply by the paper price. A print on semi-matte photo paper would cost 320 x .08 = $25.60
CUSTOM SIZES ARE EASILY CALCULATED USING THIS FORMULA. If you are not sure which size you want to print, use the aspect ratio calculator to figure out all of your sizing options based on the aspect ratio of your original.
A NOTE REGARDING SMALL PRINT SIZES: We can and often do print smaller than 8x10. In small quantities, your minimum print charge will be for an 8x10 because we print on large rolls of paper and need to take waste into account.
